Starting With a Plan
Most of the practical harm from gambling comes from unplanned spending. A few decisions made before you open the lobby are more effective than any in-session willpower.
Sign up & Set Limits
"I'm comfortable spending up to CA$50 tonight" is a plan. "I'll see how it goes" is not. Decide the amount before you log in and treat it as a fixed cost — not a starting point for negotiation during the session.
Sessions with no defined endpoint expand. When either limit is reached, the session ends. Running both at once is more reliable than just one — the earlier limit always applies.
Use a portion of discretionary spending — money that has no other claim on it. Gambling with money earmarked for rent, groceries, or bills changes the stakes in a way that distorts judgment and makes safe limits harder to keep.
SpinEmpire allows deposit limits to be configured immediately after registration — before any money goes in. Setting your limits in that moment, before the session context has a chance to influence you, is the most reliable approach.
Responsible Gaming Tools at SpinEmpire Canada
All tools are in the Responsible Gaming section of your account settings and are available from the moment you confirm your email.
Log in & Set LimitsDeposit Limits
Set the maximum you can deposit per day, per week, or per month. Once the limit is reached, further deposits are blocked until the period resets. Decreasing a deposit limit takes effect immediately. Increasing a limit requires a mandatory waiting period — this prevents an in-session decision from immediately undoing limits you set when thinking clearly.
Example: you set a monthly deposit limit of CA$150 on the 1st of the month. On the 8th you deposit CA$150. Any further deposit attempts before the 1st of the following month are declined. If you try to increase the limit to CA$200, the increase does not activate immediately — the cooling-off delay applies.
Loss Limits
Cap your net losses over a daily, weekly, or monthly period. Net losses differ from deposits: if you deposit CA$200, win CA$80, and then lose CA$130, your net loss is CA$130. A CA$130 loss limit would stop play at that point. Running both a deposit limit and a loss limit simultaneously gives broader control than either alone.
Session Time Reminders
Set a notification to fire at a specific interval — for example, after 45 or 90 minutes of play. The reminder prompts you to check in: how long have you been playing, how does the session compare to your plan? The reminder does not automatically end your session — it creates a pause for assessment.
Cooling-Off Period
Temporarily suspends your account for a duration you choose: 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or other available options. During this period you cannot log in, deposit, or access any games. The duration cannot be shortened after activation — only extended. A cooling-off period is appropriate when you want a defined break while preserving the option to return.
Important if you have an active bonus: the bonus expiry timer continues to run during a cooling-off suspension. If you have a bonus with remaining wagering and a limited time window, check whether the suspension will cause it to expire before activating the cooling-off period.
Permanent Self-Exclusion
Permanently closes your account. Reinstatement is not available — there is no process to reopen a self-excluded account. Any real-money balance held at closure is returned via your verified withdrawal method after compliance review. Bonus credit and bonus-derived winnings are forfeited. If you are unsure, use a cooling-off period first. Contact live chat if you need help activating self-exclusion — the process can be completed by support on your behalf.
Warning Signs of Problem Gambling
These indicators are associated with harmful gambling behavior. Any one can occur in isolation without representing a problem. Several together, or any that persist over time, warrant attention.
Get Support- Spending more time or money than planned on a consistent basis
- Depositing more after losses to try to recover them — this is called chasing, and it is one of the clearest behavioral markers of problem gambling
- Borrowing money, drawing on savings, or cutting back on essential spending to fund gambling
- Thinking about gambling when you are not playing — while working, socializing, or trying to sleep
- Feeling restless or irritable when you try to reduce or stop gambling
- Gambling as a way to manage stress, boredom, or emotional difficulty rather than as entertainment
- Telling others you gamble less than you actually do
- Making commitments to yourself to reduce gambling and then breaking them

For Family Members and People Close to Problem Gamblers
The harm from problem gambling extends beyond the individual. If someone you are close to is gambling in a way that is affecting their finances, relationships, or health, the organizations listed above can also assist you. You do not need to be a gambler yourself to contact them.
Preventing Underage Access
SpinEmpire requires players to be 18 or older. Age is verified during the KYC process before any withdrawal is released. If you share devices or a network connection with people under 18, internet filtering tools such as GamBlock or BetFilter can restrict access to gambling sites at the device or router level. Keep your SpinEmpire login credentials private. If you believe someone else has accessed your account, change your password immediately and contact support.
Before Each Session
- Confirm your planned budget and time limit before logging in
- Avoid sessions when tired, stressed, or in emotional difficulty
- Log in knowing your plan — not to figure it out once you are inside the lobby
During a Session
- If you lose your planned amount, the session is done — even if you still have time remaining
- Do not raise bet sizes after a run of losses; it does not improve your statistical position and depletes your buffer faster
- If playing on a bonus, remember the CA$5 maximum bet applies while it is active
After a Session
- Compare what you spent against what you planned
- If you regularly spend more than planned, set a deposit limit in account settings before your next session — doing it in a neutral moment is more effective than deciding in the moment
- If self-management is not working: activate a cooling-off period, or contact one of the support organizations above
